I am the worst dancer in my class!?

I recently joined a dance class that is basically all summer. I have only danced for a month and I know the instructor I had didn't really help me understand the basics. Now in this class I am the worst dancer. Everyone else is older and has more experience then I do. I ask for help and they basically blow me off and say just watch. When we are in groups of four and we have to perform in front of everybody, I still don't get the steps right. I don't understand most of the steps since I never studied ballet or jazz Terminology. The instructor yells at me in front of everyone and singles me out. I have to continue however. Any tips on how to get the steps right and ways to make me a better dancer?
