Does joining the army pay for college?
Hello, I am at high school right now and my teachers believe I am able to go to ivy league colleges like Yale and Harvard. One of my biggest accomplishments so far was getting a boat license and pretty soon a scuba diving one. I am also a straight A student and volunteer. There are also other good things I have done. Yet, I am going to college in two years and my parents have $0 saved up for my college. Yeah my parents don't support me when it comes to school, which makes me feel bad. I know for a fact that my mom won't have enough money to send me to an ivy league school. Let's hypothetically say I make it to Yale and my parents don't have money to send me there, would joining the US army pay for my tuition in Yale? I mean I know I could receive scholarships, since I am a good student and get high scores on SAT's and regents ( I live in New York). But I hear that even scholarships won't pay enough for Yale. I really want to go to Yale or any ivy league school. I don't want to have spend my four years at high school for a standard school. I need some answers please. By the way the only thing that might come back to haunt me is my 28 absences in the ninth grade, because of health reasons. Yet I always go to summer school just for extra credit. My anyone please be kind enough to give me a feedback.
